Kevin R. Watkins has over 14 years of experience representing developers, businesses, local governments, and individuals in municipal, land use, zoning, construction, contract and litigation matters. In addition to working as an in-house City Attorney for the City of West Jordan, Utah and South Salt Lake, Utah, Mr. Watkins has also represented smaller cities and special districts. More recently as a partner in private practice Mr. Watkins has represented developers and businesses, and his current practice includes clients such as Action Door Controls, Freight-Tec, Hughes General Contractors, Wentworth Development, Advanced Innovations, Terramerica Corporation, Vernal Theatres, and Engineered Structures. Mr. Watkins represents clients throughout the state of Utah, Idaho, and California, and also provides general legal counsel to corporations and small businesses.
Mr. Watkins was co-counsel in one of the largest condemnation cases in the State of Utah, representing the plaintiff who was awarded over $3.4 million in a case against the Utah Department of Transportation, and has recently resolved several outstanding disputes between local governments and his clients, resulting in clients saving several million dollars in lost development proceeds.
Prior to practicing law Mr. Watkins worked for Security Pacific Bank in San Francisco, California, the City and County of San Francisco, and Contra Costa County in Martinez, California.
